WHO IS raQueL

raQueL bLasCo it´s me: the pattern designer, author and illustrator behind the magic world of

MaggiCo'S Village

I grew between artists and antiquarians, perhaps by this (one day, after to study Biology) I decided to study Forniture Restauration, so my hands could be making beautiful things.

Years later, inspired by Tim Burton and Remedios Varo, I decided to create my own magical world and over a big canvas was born the first MaggiCo'S Village.

At the end of 2008, I discovered the Patchwork. Several months later, I made the decision to transfer my drawings and my Magical World over pieces of linen or cotton.

Meanwhile and until now, my drawings have been adapted to be embroidered in cross stitch.

On 2013, fifteen of my patchwork designs were published in a special number of Quilt Country Magazine Hors Serie by Les Editions de Saxe and on September of this year, I published my first book with them: "Decó feitrine"

From then, I collaborate with Les Editions de Saxe and my work is being published  several of their magazines (Magic Patch, Quilt Country, Mains and Merveilles and Coudre c'est facile).

Two new books arrived soon: "La feutrine au fil des mois" and "La feutrine enchantée"

At the end of 2015 one of my works was published in Australian Homespun Magazine, too.

Rignt now, I spent the most of my time, designing and drawing magical worlds and characters.
